The third annual Nambour Together is back with a bang offering a day of excellent family fun and heaps of live entertainment.

Nambour Together is a free event for the whole community, offering a great range of stalls, services and lots of fun everyone can enjoy. With a jam packed program, there is something for every member of the family.

The popular Tent Talks are back offering a chance for the community to discuss in-depth issues relevant to the Nambour and Hinterland communities. There will also be live music from performers such as All Strings Attached, The House of Soul and Lippia and the Outsiders, plus dance performances. For the kids, there are a wide range of activities including a roaming clown, chill zone and hula hoop making workshop.

New additions to the program this year are the skate comp being held at 12noon, plus a basketball clinic. There will be food stalls from local favourites such as Mrs Bean Mobile Coffee, Mr Whippy retro ice-cream van and many more.

Nambour Community Centre’s Thriving Families has introduced a new range of youth-focused activities perfect for those who like art, music, coffee and free wi-fi! Under the Bell

A relaxed space for young parents to chat, tap into free wi-fi and enjoy a great coffee

Anyone under 25 with kids is invited to come and hang under the bell tent at Nambour Community Centre. This is a great chill and supported play space for parents to come and enjoy a coffee and playtime with their kiddos in a cool cafe-style environment.

The Young Women’s Collective

A creative space where creative women are supported by like-minded women

Thriving Families is proud to introduce a group where young women can get creative stuff done and happening in their lives. Whether it’s art, dance, clay, hair, nails, up-cycling or sewing, you’re more than welcome to bring your creative ideas. The group is designed for high school students and young women in the Nambour community and all participants will be supported by other women. The group will meet once a fortnight where everyone is encouraged to make, create and hang out with young women. Come as you are! This is a free event with a feed provided.

Join the Thriving Fam’s Crew

 If kicking back over pizza, music, graffiti and hangs gets you amped and you’re aged between 12 and 18, come join the Thriving Fam’s Crew. We meet in the laneway at Nambour Community Centre (cnr James and Shearer Street, Nambour).

Let’s celebrate Refugee Week!

Let’s get together and celebrate Refugee Week with a special screening of Constance on the Edge at Big Screen Cinemas Caloundra on Monday 19 June. Doors open at 5pm for a Buddies Q&A forum followed by the screening from 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome. Grab your tickets here.

Mindful Parenting with Venerable Drolkar

Learn more about mindful parenting at a one-off workshop.

Thriving Families will host a one-off workshop with information and activities about mindfulness. Come along to explore the role of mindfulness in parenting and how to help children practice mindfulness at a special event to be held at the Nambour Community Centre on Saturday 15 July from 9-1pm with special guest Venerable Drolkar. Ordained in 2011, Venerable Drolkar has a degree in Applied Ethics, is a graduate of Discovering Buddhism, a current student of FPMT’s advanced study program and a Buddhist Chaplain.

Venerable Drolkar is a grandmother of two and loves to laugh. Students value the warmth, humour and ease that Venerable Drolkar brings to her presentations. This is a free event. To RSVP, please phone Carey Shaw at Thriving Families on 5476 4933.

Dance, food and music – the Autumn Equinox Festival is here.

Have you ever wanted to know more about the events, workshops and groups meeting at Nambour Community Centre? The Autumn Equinox Festival is a great chance to find out more.

The Nambour Community Centre offers a great range of events, workshops, groups and services for all community members and to help showcase our services, as well as celebrate the changing season, we’re holding the Autumn Equinox Festival.

The festival is a chance for community members to find out all about the great things happening at NCC from the groups meeting in our rooms to the workshops on offer and our hang out space.

The festival will be held on Friday 31 March and there will be plenty of dancing, music, food, workshops and much more. Everyone is welcome to come along to this great free community event.

Bring your neighbours, friends and family because for every new person you bring to the Autumn Equinox Festival you receive a free raffle ticket to go in the draw for some great prizes.
