2011 Annual General Meeting Group Discussion Notes
The theme of the 2011
NCC Annual General Meeting was "Celebrating Groups”. As part of this theme
the meeting began with a group activity where participants split into smaller
groups and discussed one of 5 group related questions, recording their
conversations on butcher’s paper. Each of the five groups then shared their thoughts
with the whole group, while the activity facilitator, Tina Lathouras enhanced
the discussion by providing a brief outline of relevant developmental theory
around groups. The conversation generally supported the theory and their was
general agreement that groups provide an extremely important opportunity for both
individuals and the broader community to grow stronger. To download the notes

Nambour Good Beginnings family support evaluation
The various services that originate from
the Nambour Good Beginnings office in Nambour were externally evaluated in the
second half of 2010. A big thank you to the families, volunteers and staff that
participated in this activity. From NCC's point of view it was a really useful experience with some great validation and learnings. To read the report click here.

Food for Thought workshop manual
In 2009 NCC and a number of other community & neighbourhood centres on the Sunshine Coast hosted Food for Thought workshops that were developed by students from the School of Health & Sport Sciences, Faculty of Science, Health &
Education Centre of the University of the Sunshine Coast. For these workshops a short manual was developed that has some wonderful ideas about;
- Eating sustainably & in an environmentally friendly way
- Places to purchase local food
- Ways to preparing food to maintain it's nutritional value
- Foods that are good value nutritiously and cost wise
- Planning a tasty weekly menu that is based around local, sustainable and
- Budget conscious food choices.
Multiculturalism on the Sunshine CoastMany people believe that the Sunshine Coast is a mono-cultural region, but the statistics show us a different story. The following data about the Sunshine Coast region was drawn from the 2006 AustralianBureu of Statistics.click here to download a copy.
